CHILDREN

In Mark 10:14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Our children’s ministry is based on three simple truths from this verse:

1. Jesus saw the importance of children even when others in his culture didn’t.
2. All children are important to God, therefore they are important to us.
3. We desire to partner with families to nurture children and to build strong foundations of faith in the lives.

 

The mission of Ashworth Road Baptist Church’s children’s ministry is to help children begin and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by partnering with families in nurturing and developing young spiritual leaders who will be the presence of Christ in their community and around the world.

 

WEEKLY PRESCHOOL AND CHILDREN’S MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

 

Saturday Night Worship
During Saturday Night worship, childcare will be provided for children ages birth through age 3, and a full hour Children’s Worship Service will be provided for children ages 4 through grade 5.

 

Sunday Morning Worship
During Sunday Morning worship, childcare, called “Extended Session,” is provided for children birth through age 3. Children ages 4 years through kindergarten are encouraged to worship with their families during the music of the service, then are dismissed to children’s church during the sermon.

 

Each Sunday morning, our children’s director shares a Children’s Sermon which is designed to apply the theme of the worship service to the children’s level of understanding. Children who attend are also provided activity sheets to use during the service as well.

 

Sunday School
Sunday School classes are provided for children of all ages from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. During this time, children are taught Bible stories and Bible thoughts through a variety of media, including music, art, games, and activities.

 

TeamKID
TeamKID (“Kids in Discipleship”) is a fun, recreation-based discipleship program, which is a high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him.

Boys and girls three-years-old through kindergarten hear Bible stories and apply spiritual truths to their daily lives, sing Bible-verse songs, pray, experience a variety of creative art and manipulative activities, play Bible-related recreational games, enjoy a snack, and have FUN! Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm.

Children in 1st through 5th grades are actively involved in memorizing scripture, hearing and participating in Bible stories, applying God’s Word to daily living, learning about missions, playing exciting games, singing, praying, and they enjoy delicious snacks that relate to the fun-packed Bible learning. Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.

 

Other Activities
During the year, ARBC kids enjoy various seasonal events and activities, including a Back to School Bash, Vacation Bible School, Summer Family Swim, and a visit to the Pumpkin Patch. Children also are offered missions opportunities such as serving with Kid’s Against Hunger, Samaritan’s Purse and other mission events that are coordinated by the Church.
